You Must Be Born Again

Author: Esaú Crespo

John 3:1-22.

John 3:1 There was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews.

John 3:2 The same came to Jesus by night and said unto Him, Rabbi, we know you are a teacher come from God; for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him.

John 3:3 Jesus said unto him, verily, verily, or truly, truly, I say unto you. Except a man be born again, he cannot see the Kingdom of God.

John 3:4 Nicodemus saith unto him, how can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter the second time into his mothers womb and be born?

John 3:5 Jesus answered, verily, verily, I say unto thee, except a man be born of water and of the spirit he cannot enter the Kingdom of God.

This scripture was fulfilled in Acts 2:1-4, Acts 2:41. See Acts 2:38.

John 3:6 That which is born of flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the spirit is spirit.

John 3:7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, you must be born again.

John 3:8 The wind bloweth where it listeth and thou hearest the sound thereof but canst not tell whence it cometh or whether it goeth; so is everyone that is born of the Spirit.

This is fulfilled in Acts 2:1-4 - a rushing mighty wind.

John 3:9 Nicodemus said unto him, how can these things be?

John 3:10 Jesus answered and said unto him, art thou a master of Israel, and knowest not these things?

John 3:11 Verily, verily I say unto thee, we speak that we do know and testify that we have seen, and you received not our witness.

The witness of scripture.

John 3:12 If I have told you earthly things and you believed not, how shall you believe if I tell you of heavenly things?

John 3:13 And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but He that came down from heaven, even the son of man which is in heaven.

His body didn't come down from heaven. He was here and was in heaven at the same time because he was God. John 4:24, God is a spirit.

John 3:14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up.

John 3:15 That whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

To believe in Jesus is to believe everything that has been written of Him from Genesis to Revelation. John 7:38,39

John 7:38 He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.

John 7:39 But this spake He of the spirit, which they that believe on Him should receive; for the Holy Ghost was not yet given because that Jesus was not yet glorified.

Luke 24:44-53

Luke 24:44 And He said unto them, these are the words which I spake unto you while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the Law of Moses and in the Prophets, and in the Psalms, concerning Me.

Luke 24:45 Then opened He their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures,

Luke 24:46 and said unto them, thus it is written, and thus it behooved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day.

Luke 24:47 And that repentance and remission of sin should be preached in His Name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

Luke 24:49 And ye are witnesses of these things.

Luke 24:50 And behold I send the promise of My Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.

Luke 24:51 And He led them out as far as Bethany and He lifted up His hands and blessed them. And it came to pass while He blessed them, He was parted from them, and carried up into heaven.

Luke 24:52 And they worshipped Him, and returned to Jerusalem with great joy.

Luke 24:53 And were continually in the temple praising and blessing God.

John 3:19 And this is the condemnation that light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds are evil.

John 3:20 For everyone that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light lest their deeds should be reproved.

John 3:21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

These scriptures were fulfilled in the second chapter of the book of Acts. Acts 2:38.

Jesus was the final Passover lamb. He purchased the church with His own blood, Acts 20:28.

In Exodus chapter 12 they observed the first Passover just before the children of Israel left Egypt. The blood of the Passover lamb was their salvation from the death angel. They had to apply that blood exactly like God told them to or the first born in every house would have died. God said, when I see the blood, I will pass over you Exodus 12:12-14. Israel was born as a nation.

In Leviticus 23, we have the feasts of the Lord:

On April 14 or the 14th day of the month, is the Passover. Leviticus 23:5. Jesus is our Passover lamb. I Corinthians 5:7.

April 15 the feast of unleavened bread. Leviticus 23:6 I Corinthians 5:8.

April 16 the feast of first fruits. I Corinthians 15:23. Christ the first fruits. A type of the resurrection of Christ.

June 6 - the feast of Pentecost. Pentecost is 50 days from first fruits from April 16 to June the 6th - 50 days from first fruits is the feast of Pentecost. Pentecost means 50.

Pentecost or 50 days counted from the first fruits not from the Passover. Passover a type of the crucification, first fruits a type of the resurrection. Pentecost - 50 days after the resurrection.

It is important to understand these feasts or celebrations to understand that the church was purchased with His own blood, and how the church was born on the day of Pentecost. The Holy Ghost was not poured out until the day of Pentecost was fully come. Acts 2:1-4.

Acts 2:5-13 - the people from the seventeen different nations gathered in Jerusalem that day were amazed, and in doubt, saying one to another, what meaneth this? Others mocking said, these men are full of new wine. But Peter standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and said unto them, Ye men of Judea and all ye that dwell in Jerusalem, be this known unto you and hearken unto my words.

For these are not drunken as ye supposed, seeing it is but the third hour of the day, but this is that which was spoken of by the Prophet Joel.

Joel 2:28 And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions:

Joel 2:29 And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit.

Joel 2:30 And I will shew wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke.

Joel 2:31 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and terrible day of the LORD come.

Joel 2:32 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the LORD shall be delivered

Peter said, this is what Joel spoke of. Joel says, whosoever shall call on the Name of the Lord shall be delivered . Salvation is deliverance from sin. As Israel was delivered from Egyptian bondage, we are delivered from the bondage of sin. We are not saved in our sins, we are saved from our sins.

After Peter's sermon in Acts 2:14-36, in verse 36, Peter said therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly that God hath made that same Jesus who you have crucified, both Lord and Christ. Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart and said, men and brethren, what shall we do. Acts 2:38 IS The Plan of Salvation

Then Peter said unto them, repent, and be Baptized, every one of you in the Name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. For this promise is unto you, and to your children, and all that are afar off. Meaning down through the ages, as many as the Lord our God shall call. And with many other words did He testify and exhort, saying, save yourself from this untoward generation. Then they that gladly received His Word were baptized: the same day were added unto them about 3,000 souls.
